Tashi Jorpel Wangdi, founder of Druk Jorpel Adventures, hails from Merak, a remote highland Sherpa village in eastern Bhutan at 11,500 ft (3,500 m). Although originally trained as a teacher, Tashi followed his heart to the mountains and began his journey in tourism as a trek helper. Through dedication and passion, he became one of Bhutan’s most respected guides.
Tashi has led tours for globally renowned companies such as REI Adventures, Sierra Club, Peregrine, Intrepid Travel, Peregrine and World Expeditions. He has completed every major trekking route in Bhutan, including the legendary Snowman Trek—which he has successfully guided nine times.
Tashi's exceptional knowledge, warmth, humor, and leadership skills make him a trusted companion for both cultural tours in Bhutan and extreme trekking adventures. His love for Bhutan’s culture, people, and natural landscapes is evident in every trip he designs and leads. Besides being a top guide for adventurous trekking trips, he loves to immerse his guests in authentic cultural experiences. An avid student of Mahayana Buddhism and Bhutanese history, he will entertain you with legends and engage in deep philosophical discussions if you are curious enough to ask.

Depending on the itinerary you select, while on the tour in Bhutan we call upon guides with tremendous experience in Trekking, Cultural, Mountain Biking, Botanical Tour or any other customized Special Interest Tours. They bring their passion and expertise to give you the ultimate travel and adventure experience. Tashi’s reward for many years of leading trekking trips is getting to know a countless number of cooks, trekking crews, and horsemen. We have an extraordinary set of trekking staff who will delight you while you are "roughing it" out on the trail. We provide only the best licensed English speaking guides and can also arrange guides who speak Spanish, Italian, French( Tashi is a French Speaking guide), German, Japanese or Chinese.
ACCOMMODATION, TRANSPORT AND TREKKING EQUIPMENT
We accommodate our guests in best 3 Star or higher hotels which are certified by the Tourism Council and Hotel Association of Bhutan. The company provides very comfortable SUV cars for a group of two guests and a Deluxe Toyota Van for a group of six and fewer guests. For larger groups of more than seven, we provide Deluxe Toyota coach buses. While out on a trek we provide top-quality trekking equipment and haulages. We have REI dome tents and A- shaped sleeping tents which can withstand cold weather and overnight snowfall. We double wrap your bags so that the contents stay dry and your duffels are transported and handled very carefully.
