TRIP HIGHLIGHTS:

GANGKAR PUENSUM TREK ADVENTURE

Compared to any other treks Gangkar Puensum trek is one of the remotest, quiet and spectacular treks to escape off a beaten track into Himalayan wilderness. Especially at around the base camp we are obliged to feel that we are on a hardcore expedition and in fact we will be mesmerized by our own sense of achievement as we explore around the World’s highest unclimbed peak. Annually a single group or none does this beautiful trek marking it as a very unique route less explored. The Adventure starts in Dhur and continues for three days following the trails of Snowman Trek 2 and then diverting the route ascends over Dollay La pass with spectacular views of Monla Karchung Peak and to Tsampa Gompa near the Tibetan border. Follow upstream along Chamkhar Chhu to the base camp of mighty peak Gangkar Puensum with breathtaking views and along the way encountering many yak herders allowing ample chances to learn about their unique way of life. Endure to explore further from a closer base camp at Zhigey Phu valley summiting to Bhutan’s official limits of elevation at 18,000ft where only handful of people have been and feel the trek more as an expedition. The adventure ends in Bumthang, a holiest place offering visit to some oldest temples and monasteries to feel the sacredness through ages of worship.

Note: The actual Gangkar Puensum trek goes until Bumurpa camp and trek gets shorter by 3 days if you want to skip enduring ZhigeyPhu valley expeditions and follow the normal route.
